I own a very particular mare, one who definitely gives me an opinion about who is allowed to touch her.  I still remember our very first trim, when Diane came up to meet Star and get to know her FIRST before going straight to work on her hooves.  To this day, she always greets Star with a nice rub and hello before starting her trim.  Diane is caring, knowledgeable and loves horses and this reflects in her work.  She's patient and always takes the time needed to make sure my sensitive horse isn't rushed, but at the same time is very efficient.  I can't imagine using anyone else for our hoof care needs and I have and would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to keep a barefoot horse.

Early this summer  a friend from the old neighborhood stopped me as I was closing the front gates. Diane jogging by stopped  for a moment to tell me she moved too and was just around the corner from me.  Fantastic , natural  hoof care is  what  works for us here.  It is  always a little uncomfortable to let someone you know that you have been using for years  that you won't be needing them for next trim. Still, I  was hesitant to book the new appointment as would Diane be as skilled as the other and would she be as nice to my horses?

One of my girls, a quarter horse far in her teens had been refusing to lift a rear leg and I do believe it is pain related although she gallops and tears around here.  The vet could find no wrong, twice.  Anyhow Diane persisted she would do her whether she picked up her foot or not and she did. She dug around the ground where that hoof was planted and exposed the hoof and Dior finally got that foot trimmed.

Lacy  a thoroughbred and a challenge stood quietly while Diane went  to work, and while trimming Lacy , I shared that horses story with Diane. A horse  that was promised to kill me by both a vet and a farrier  when I got her at 9 years old . As Diane was about to finish one hoof  this is when Lacy nickered into my hands. Never in our lives together has she done this and for a second it felt like deep gratitude as I got goose bumps because it was so loving.  The timing, a response to Diane's work? I  don't know but it was a beautiful and emotional experience.

Diane has been here now many times and is wonderful with the horses. They have been hard to catch in the past for hoof trims, but not for Diane.

I was really out of my comfort zone when I had my, then, 25-year old Appy gelding's shoes taken off to start a new life barefooted.  We had moved to a  'Barefoot'  barn where Diane had been trimming the other horses feet for a while.  This is a year ago and Tani adjusted really well through all the seasons.  His feet have never been better.  He is pretty well retired, but if we do ride on hard and stony ground, he wears Easy Boots.  Thanks, Di.
